Let's talk about love
|
LOVE is a topic that has eternal charm for poets, novelists, film directors and, indeed, everyone in this world, for life is so long and always imperfect that we need someone to support us along the way.
Some people try to explain love as a product of family relationship, educational backgrounds and social classes, while psychologists may insist that it is closely related to one's subconscious and childhood influences. According to biologists, people's body smells and genes are decisive factors.
Hearing people talk about their own experience, though, can be enlightening. "Yes, I was attracted by her big shining eyes at first sight," Michael confessed. "He is just like my father, so warm-hearted and considerate," Jane said with a sweet smile.
Some insist on the importance of shared hobbies, while others simply refuse to give any reason. "Before knowing where you are, you have already been trapped by it," they shrug helplessly.
As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. Our choice of love may actually be the reflection of ourselves. It's always exciting for us to find an echo of those feelings deep inside us. We highly cherish our own virtues we have or yearn for. Lovers are mirrors, in which we see part of what we are and part of what we want to be.
Similar family backgrounds and personal experience, common hobbies or just a favourite song shared by the two may kindle the spark of love.
However, love is not at our fingertips, nor a game we can play without any effort. It is a serious thing. Not everyone has the ability to gain true and everlasting love, which requires many virtues like trust, tolerance, consideration, responsibility and perseverance.
