Bank finances power plant
|
A LOAN package of 250 million yuan (US$30 million) was recently offered by the Shenzhen Branch of the Bank of China to the city's Energy Environmental Protection Co Ltd for the building of trash-incineration power plant. This follows a 100 million yuan loan provided by the Shenzhen Branch of the Bank of China last year.
Two incineration power plants are being constructed in Nanshan District. It is reported that the company has imported from Belgium a complete range of incinerating and smoke-scrubbing facilities, while nationalizing the core technology. The loans will spur development of a co-ordinated power industry based on the burning of garbage, including investment, design, construction and operation of the plants.(Alfred Zhang)
