Russia to delay destroying Mir

Russia will delay destroying its aging Mir space station until mid-March due to a flare-up in activity of the sun, space officials said last Thursday.
Mir's Pacific Ocean splashdown, originally scheduled for around March 8, may now take place between March 13-18, said Sergei Gorbunov, spokesman for the Russian Space Agency.(SD-Agencies)
