LNG settled in SZ
|
CHINA'S first liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving station, officially approved by the State Planning Commission, will be set up at Chengtoujiao Village in the eastern township of Dapeng.
By 2005, when the first phase LNG project is finished, LNG in Pearl River Delta will have replaced liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). LNG is both cheaper and cleaner than LPG.
Experts from Beijing and Shanghai on Wednesday met in SZ to discuss issues relating to the design, manufacturing, installation, checking and trial operation of the station.
The first phase of the project will cost 4.28 billion yuan. A three-million-tonne gas station and 320 kilometres of pipelines connecting Shenzhen, Guangzhou,
Dongguan and Foshan will be completed. The gas is mainly for civil and industrial purposes. The second phase will reach five to six million tonnes in production and pipelines will satisfy the need of all major cities in the province.
Invitation of investment and feasibility study of the project is now under way.
