Lopez may testify for ex-bf

THE lawyer for Sean ``Puffy'' Combs, the rap mogul on trial for weapons possession, said on Wednesday he still might call Jennifer Lopez to testify for her ex-boyfriend after Combs takes the stand on Thursday in his own defense.
``If Miss Lopez is to testify, she will follow Mr. Combs first thing Friday morning,'' attorney Ben Brafman told Judge Charles Solomon in Manhattan Supreme Court.
``It's always been a possibility,'' he said, adding ``but as I anticipate right now, she will not testify.''
Combs and Lopez released statements on Tuesday, in which Combs said: ``Since I intend to testify on my own behalf, I feel it is no longer necessary for Jennifer to be involved in these proceedings.''
Lopez said, ``If he (Combs) and his lawyers change their minds and require me to testify, I will be there immediately to tell the truth.''
Combs, 31, a Grammy-winning producer and performer who is arguably the biggest name in the hip-hop music industry, has been on trial for more than a month on charges of illegal gun possession and bribery stemming from the fracas and shooting at the Times Square night club in which three people were wounded.
A multimillionaire whose business empire includes Bad Boy Records and the Sean John clothing line, Combs faces a possible sentence of up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
The rapper and his entourage, including his then-girlfriend Lopez, fled the club and were chased down by police. Lopez has not been charged.
