United dominance bad: Wenger

阿森纳主教练温格认为曼联独霸英超对英足球发展不利
ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger claims that Manchester United's dominance of the Premier League is bad for English football.
Last season United won the title by 18 points and they are now on target for a record
third win in a row.
The Reds are 16 points clear of second-placed Arsenal after beating them 6-1 on Sunday.
"It is bad for English football, it's bad for the Premier League. It would be more
exciting if three or four teams fought for the title," Wenger said.
"We are not into March yet and the league title race is already over. The rest of us
cannot be proud of that," he said.
United manager Alex Ferguson is refusing to claim the title just yet. And he believes
Leeds United could launch a late bid to snatch the runners-up spot from Arsenal and
third-placed Liverpool.
Leeds are sixth, seven points behind Arsenal with 10 games still to play.
"Leeds are starting to challenge. They are definitely a threat. They have to go to
Highbury but their best form is away from home," Ferguson said.
"It's only going to be between Arsenal, Liverpool and Leeds though."
Liverpool, who beat first division Birmingham City in the League Cup final on Sunday and
have two Premier League games in hand, are five points behind Arsenal. Sunderland are fourth and Ipswich Town fifth.
Ferguson said United have not been getting the best out of striker Teddy Sheringham,
despite the fact that he is the Premier League's joint leading scorer with 19 goals.
"We've been using Teddy in the wrong way. He's the best in the business at keeping attacks going forward from a position behind the front men.
"But I wanted to play with two direct strikers and that is why I recalled Dwight Yorke."
Ferguson is unsure whether Yorke will play against Leeds next Saturday because of his
international commitments.
The striker, who scored a hat-trick against Arsenal, flew out to the Caribbean later on
Sunday for Trinidad and Tobago's World Cup qualifier against Jamaica.
"It's unfortunate that he plays there on Wednesday. I don't know what time he gets back." (SD-Agencies)
