INVITED by the Information Office of the State Council, Mana Ranjan Josse, senior consultant of the Nepalese People's Review Weekly arrived in Shenzhen yesterday.
During a personal interview with Shenzhen's Vice-Mayor Zhuang Xinyi, Mr Josse wondered how the city can maintain its pioneering spirit and quick-paced economic development.
“The city's achievements in the past were mainly attributed to the first generation pioneers. However, compared with their predecessors, the city's young people are more energetic and creative. They boast better English levels, more sophisticated computer skills and the willingness to accept new things,” Zhuang said.
The same day, Josse also visited the Shenzhen Special Zone Press Group and met President of the press group Wu Songying.
“It is of great significance for us to strengthen ties with media in Shenzhen, one of the most active export-oriented economies in China,”Josse said.
Wu expressed the hope that the press group would be able to provide some special pages on China for Nepalese newspapers in the near future.
As a senior reporter, Josse also worked as the chief representative of Nepal to the United Nations between 1985 and 1990.
