Furniture buyers troop to SZ
|
ABOUT 2,000 purchasers from 18 countries have arrived in SZ to attend the eighth SZ International Furniture Exposition, even though the show won't open for another four days.
According to Cao Guohua, chairman of the SZ Furniture Association, the purchasers have come from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe, where furniture produced in SZ has attracted attention, Cao noted.
Two main reasons are behind the city's fame, according to Cao. SZ has led the country in furniture design, and is the most developed city in China in the sector. Secondly, all kinds of quality furniture from around the country can be found here.
Last year the sales volume of SZ's furniture hit a record high of 14 billion yuan and achieved US$850 million in export volume, both top of the list nationwide.
It is released that the coming exposition, the largest one in history, will kick off on March 10 at the China Hi-Tech Fair Exhibition Centre, with more than 200 domestic producers expected to showcase their latest products.
