German hostages in Egypt freed
|
FOUR German tourists taken hostage by their tour guide in southern Egypt were freed unharmed yesterday, police said.
Police said the tour guide, who had been holding the four Germans since Monday at a home in the Luxor area in a bid to get back his children who are with his estranged wife in Germany, surrendered without giving any resistance.
A police source said the guide had been taken to police headquarters in Luxor, while the freed hostages had been moved to a house in Karnak, a Pharonic site next to this ancient city along the Nile.(SD-Agencies)
