CIMC signs US$200m deal
|
CHINA International Marine Containers Group Co Ltd (CIMC) based in Shenzhen signed a US$200 million deal with Australian transport equipment producer Macfield Group of Companies to supply specialized rail equipment at Wuzhou Guesthouse yesterday.
Under the agreements signed yesterday, CIMC will supply hundreds of intermodal standard rail containers and rail wagons for high speed use in Australian rail freight transport industry over the next five years.
It is the first time that a Chinese company has ever exported specialized rail equipment to a developed country according to Mai Boliang, president of CIMC.
“The deal signifies the increased technical sophistication of Chinese rail equipment manufacturing technology," Mai said.
Bruce McDonald, president of Macfield, said that the collaboration enabled the company to fill big contracts with Australian railway companies.
