Benicio Del Toro: I don't have time for a girlfriend

STAR actor Benicio Del Toro is resolutely single - because he doesn't have time for a girlfriend.
The Oscar-nominated Traffic star, who has been linked to Chiara Mastroianni - the daughter of Catherine Deneuve and Marcello Mastroianni - refuses to talk about his love life, but says his career means he doesn't really have time for one anyway.
When asked if he has a girlfriend he replies, "No", adding, "A girlfriend is someone you're with most of the time, right? Right now I'm going fast - a rolling stone gathers no moss - I'm going to start a movie pretty soon and it's like, 'Whoa!'"
But despite the lack of a significant other in his life, Benicio admits he did contemplate sharing his life with a monkey at one point. He says, "I went to a pet shop in Las Vegas when I was doing Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. They had a monkey for sale for US$6, 000." But Del Toro admits he soon realized he wasn't up to the responsibility. He says, "Then reality takes over. You have to take care of this creature all the time. It's like having a permanent two-year-old for 40 years."
