Chinese came from Africa
|
A RECENT study in China has confirmed previous research findings that Chinese people probably originate from Africa.
The blood lineage was identified by the genetic laboratory under Fudan University, which found a mutation in the gene M168G on the Y chromosome of nearly 10,000 men living in almost all parts of China.
The mutation, a unique genetic marker in some Africans, can be tracked to Africa not earlier than 79,000 years ago.
In co-operation with several scientists in the United States, Britain, Australia and other countries, the group of researchers confirmed the genetic link after comparing 88 groups of people across East and Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The findings also helped the researchers to map out a possible immigration route: Some Africans crossed the Yangtze River to become our ancestors in the present North China from Southeast Asia, the major area where human beings lived after moving out of Africa.(SD News)
