SZ clothing shines at int'l fair

SHENZHEN clothing held the stage at the Ninth China International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC), which was held in Beijing between March 28 and 31.
The fair is said to be the largest of its kind in Asia, with about 700 domestic and overseas garment companies displaying their latest styles of clothing and accessories.
This is the third time for Shenzhen to attend the annual event, with the theme of "The Rising Sun in Shenzhen" this year, following "Shenzhen's Flower Season" and "The Spring Story" in the past two years.
The Shenzhen delegation occupies the largest displaying area at the fair, with over 60 clothing enterprises showing the fashion charm of South China.
After 20 years' development, Shenzhen has become one of the major places for clothing production and export, boasting over 2,000 enterprises and 270,000 employees in this industry.
Design is the soul of fashion, as some professionals said. Shenzhen fashion can not develop so quickly without a strong team of designers, who know well of the trend and the market. Among them, many have won various awards home and abroad.
At present, the city boasts over 400 fashion brands, most of which have established chain stores in Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Guangzhou and Hangzhou and exported products to the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia and some European countries.
