"Spy Kids" marches in big
|
FAMILY audiences bonded big with Spy Kids.
Featuring a pair of pint-sized, wannabe 007s, the secret-agent saga scored a huge US$27 million. If preliminary studio estimates hold, the flick would become the fourth biggest March opening ever.
The only films that have marched in better were Jim Carrey's Liar, Liar (US$31.4 million) and Julia Roberts' Erin Brockovich (US$28.1 million).
The Robert Rodriquez-directed Spy Kids, which stars Antonio Banderas as a devoted dad whose kids have inherited his espionage skills, was hailed by critics and embraced by parents.(SD-Agencies)
