Helicopter crash in Vietnam

16 killed, including seven US servicemen
SIXTEEN people, including seven US military personnel, were killed on Saturday when a Vietnamese helicopter crashed in the north-central province of Quang Binh, the US embassy to Vietnam said in a statement.
There were no survivors from the crash which happened during the afternoon around 400 kilometres south of the capital, the Vietnamese authorities told the embassy.
"Both sides are taking appropriate action to recover and identify those aboard and to notify the next of kin," the statement, received early on Sunday, said.
"Our condolences go to all the families of those lost in this tragic incident."
Earlier a Pentagon source said in Washington that the helicopter involved was an MI-17, a modified version of the Russian MI-8 introduced in 1981.(SD-Agencies)
