SZ becomes shooting base
|
LOCAL residents with sharp eyes may have noticed some familiar faces working hard in cafes, streets or the beaches of Shenzhen. The work they're doing is not your ordinary profession, for they are some of China's top actors, who are coming to our city in increasing numbers to film their movies and TV shows.
Huang Xiaoyu, an actress who appeared in Because of Love, said that she has been in the city many times to shoot films, so many times, in fact, that she has become quite familiar with the city.
Shenzhen's sunny beaches and the modern lifestyle of its residents have combined to lure domestic filmmakers from across the country.
From the fist issuance of stocks to the development of non-State-owned enterprises, many Shenzhen stories have appeared on the silver screen.
Local film companies are also gaining ground on competitors in Beijing and Shanghai with films like "Flower Season, Rain Season", "South China 1994", "Yesterday's Promise" and many others.
Film and TV producers, meanwhile, are also heading south, apparently finding the lively migrant city an ideal location for the countless tales of today's China.
