Dameisha wish tower
|
THE Dameisha Beach Park, a popular place for locals to cool off in the summer, will look decidedly different by the end of this year when work is expected to be completed on a new 60-metre-high glass tower.
Plans for the project got underway in 1999. Following the efforts of many Chinese and foreign artists, a design named "Wish--2000 Art Plan" was approved by the Yantian District Committee of the CPC and the Yantian District Government and work began on the project to commemorate the third anniversary of Yantian District.
The plan consists of four parts: a sculpture group, behaviour art, wish tower art, and multimedia art. The tower, a transparent construction, will become a landmark.
