Top disc maker eyes SZ

TAIWAN'S Prodisc Technology Inc is seeking opportunities to invest in the Optical-fibre Communication Industrial Park in the Futian Free Trade Zone here in SZ, according to Lin Minfa, Prodisc's chairman of the board of directors, who came to town to meet with Vice-Mayor Song Hai on Monday.
Prodisc Technology Inc is ranked third among the leading disc manufacturers in the world. It produces CD-ROMs, DVDs, plus optical-fibre and rear-projection equipment. Lin said he has already looked at big cities across the mainland to investigate their investment environments.
Insiders said Prodisc's investment in SZ is expected to drive forward the development of local disc manufacturing.
