Crew search suspended

THE search for the 11 missing crew members of the Nanjing-registered "Sitong 888", which sank following a collision with another vessel off SZ on Tuesday night, has been temporarily suspended, SZ Municipal Maritime Affairs Bureau announced yesterday.
The four-day search found no trace of the missing crewmen, the bureau said. It has decided to shift the focus to dealing with the aftermath and investigation of the cause of the accident.
However, the crew members are apparently still listed as missing.
The ceramics-laden Chinese cargo ship based in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province in East China, was on its way to Jiangyin in eastern Jiangsu Province when it collided with the "Tongning No 3" in Dapeng Bay.
The latter fled the scene after the collision and is currently being sought by investigators.(SD-Agencies)
