Delisting
SHANGHAI: China's regulators have delisted Shanghai Narcissus Co after it posted a fourth year of losses, the first time a company has been stripped of its listing in the decade-long history of the country's markets, State media said yesterday.
The delisting took effect from Monday.
Treasury bonds
BEIJING: China is to issue 12 billion yuan worth of treasury bonds April 23-27, the Ministry of Finance announced in Beijing on Monday.
The treasury bonds will be sold at bond markets under the stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen.
This is the first time China has issued treasury bonds on the stock market this year.
Medicine prices
BEIJING: The State Development Planning Commission announced on Monday that the prices of medicines and related policies made by the Chinese Government will have to be publicized five to seven days before they take effect.
The measure is being taken to enhance timeliness and transparency of official policies and pricing, and strengthen public supervision over medicine prices, the commission said.
Bus plunge
BEIJING: Twenty-two people have been killed and another is missing after their bus plunged into a ravine along a mountain road in central China, an Internet site reported on Monday.
The accident happened on Thursday afternoon in the northwest of Hunan Province on the road between Changde and Longshan cities, said the Sina.com website.
The bus with 28 passengers aboard plunged several metres into a river after swerving to avoid a truck coming in the opposite direction. Three passengers were slightly injured while another two escaped unharmed.
Exposition centre
JINAN: China's largest porcelain exposition centre is now being built in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, in South China, according to sources at the ongoing China International Porcelain Exposition.
The exposition centre will occupy an area of 93 ha in Foshan City and cost one billion yuan (US$0.12 billion) to build, sources said.
Foshan is the largest building porcelain production base in China. Its production reportedly accounts for 60 per cent of the national total.
