Cruz says 'just good friends' with Cage
|
PENELOPE CRUZ, star of ``Captain Corelli's Mandolin'', has dismissed talk that she and co-star Nicolas Cage are romantically linked.
``We are not together as a couple,'' she said in an interview published in last Saturday's Daily Telegraph. ``Nicolas and I are very good friends.''
Cage, who very publicly left his actress wife Patricia Arquette while he was on the set of Captain Corelli, had a great sense of humour, Cruz said.
``He really makes me laugh. I grew up watching all of his films.''
Cruz has also made tabloid headlines with pictures taken of her and actor Tom Cruise walking arm-in-arm in Central Park after his separation from his wife, actress Nicole Kidman.
She is planning a new project with Spanish director Pedro Almodovar and fellow film star Antonio Banderas, the Telegraph magazine said.(SD-Agencies)
