Three executed for blast

JIN RUCHAO, the perpetrator of explosions that killed 108 people in North China's Hebei Province in March, was executed yesterday morning when his death sentence was verified by the Supreme People's Court.
Also executed yesterday were Wang Yushun and Hao Fengqin who supplied explosives to Jin.
On April 17, the Shijiazhuang Intermediate People's Court, in the hearing of first instance, sentenced the three to death on crimes of bombing, murder and illegal manufacturing and selling of explosives. They immediately appealed the verdicts.
The Shijiazhuang Higher People's Court yesterday, in the second instance, upheld the ruling. And the Supreme People's Court verified the ruling and ordered the execution. In China, all death sentence must be verified and approved by the Supreme People's Court before the execution could be carried out.
Jin Ruchao set off the explosions on March 16 that destroyed or damaged four apartment blocks in Shijiazhuang, killing 108 innocent people.
After the bombings, police launched a nationwide manhunt for Jin, hanging wanted posters and showing his photo on television. Jin was arrested a week later in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in South China.
In his testimony, Jin said he acted alone and was trying to take revenge against relatives, his ex-wife and others with whom he had feuded.(SD-Agencies)
