Planting wishes
|
AMONG the many things Shenzheners did during the May Day holiday, perhaps the most original was to plant 'wish trees' at Dameisha, Yantian District.
The wish forest plan was put forward by the Yantian District last month. Locals can make a wish and plant a wish tree at a designated area near the Dameisha Beach Park.
So far, over 400 people have planted their wish trees, with various wishes.
Most of the volunteers took their children to plant trees, wishing healthy growth of their younger generation: "Let the tree grow with my child together, healthy and vigorous."
Some came to plant their wishes for love. Couples planted trees together, as testament to their feelings for one another.
Other wishes were for good health of parents, a prosperous future, and so on.
