Glass project launched

SHENZHEN Tianjun Special Glass Co Ltd launched a glass-production project involving a total investment of 120 million yuan (US$14.4m).
The new glass plant will turn out new anti-frost, anti-shock, heat- and sound-insulating glass.
The project involves sophisticated material engineering to produce the high-tech glass. According to chairman of the company Zhou Huabin, the company conducted in-depth market research and investigated the technical challenges before initiating the project.
The company is expected to reach a yearly capacity of 300,000 pieces of the special glass with expected annual revenue of 1.6 billion yuan.
The plant will be located in Longqi Industrial Park in Dapeng Township on the outskirts of Shenzhen. The industrial park is expected to be a centre of high-performance material engineering in the city, according to the township's head Li Weiwen.
Xiongtao Power Source Company also pledged to invest 400 million yuan to develop high-performance batteries in Dapeng.
