THE Shenzhen Municipal Government has decided to provide financial subsidies to 44 new products developed by local businesses.
The subsidies were awarded after a joint audit by economic development, science and technology, finance and tax bureaus.
The 44 new products cover the areas of computer technology, microelectronics, telecommunications, new materials, medicine and medical equipment.
Officials say that many of the new products represent the world's leading technologies. Among them, a GSM mobile telecommunication system developed by ZTE and the integrated access platform from Huawei Technologies are epitomes of technological advance in Shenzhen, according to officials.
Credentials for the subsidy award include a prospective recipient company's tax record, revenue, export capacity and research and development investment, according to government sources.
