Gang rob bank
|
FOUR men impersonating workers from an armoured vehicle company making its daily pickup robbed a bank in eastern China of 1.4 million yuan (US$168,000), State media reported yesterday.
The robbery happened on the evening of May 9 at the Bank of China branch in the city of Wenzhou in Zhejiang Province, the Beijing Youth Daily said.
The robbers arrived 15 minutes before the real armoured vehicle crew and took several boxes of cash without arousing suspicion, the paper said.
A bank security guard noticed the men looked unfamiliar but assumed they were new employees.
They were dressed in uniforms and equipped with batons that were identical to the real armoured vehicle staff. Their vehicle also looked the same.
The bank only realized it had been duped when the regular team turned up.(SD-Agencies)
