Singing for the Olympics

AMONG the numerous stars who have pitched in to promote Beijing's bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, Yang Lan and Gong Li are perhaps the most popular, and recently helped to make a music video entitled New Beijing, New Olympic.
"My sense of music is OK, but I'm not good at using breath (in singing)," Yang Lan said with a smile during a break at a studio in Beijing. Yang, a prominent TV emcee as well as the chairwoman of the still young SUNTV Inc, is an image ambassador for the Olympic bid. She is also one of the people who will give the final presentation for Beijing in Moscow in July, where the final decision on the host city for the 2008 Olympic Games will be made.
Co-staring with Yang in the music video is Gong Li, an internationally renowned Chinese actress. She said working for the Olympic bid was her duty and that she is happy to do what she can to make the bid a success. She said she hopes that every Chinese citizen realizes the importance of this bid.(Wu Yan)
