Hu Bing, top fashion model

AMONG the numerous Chinese models who strut their stuff on the catwalk, Hu Bing is perhaps the most famous and the most fortunate.
The young man, who is often called "the number one model in China" is now angling for work where the big money lies: overseas.
His latest portrait album, a limited edition priced at US$800 each, quickly sold out.
Reportedly, a French girl was so struck by Hu's charm while he was in Paris for a photo shoot that, she decided to come to China to find her Mr Right, hoping there were many here like him.
Apart from being active on the catwalk, Hu has also delved into acting and music. His TV series Lucky One Family, which aired in 2000 and 1999's Shanghai Love Story both won high ratings.
Though admired and desired by countless fans, Hu's success has come at a price: the requirement to maintain a "perfect" body led him to avoid staple foods for years.
As for the future, Hu plans to focus on film and music for the next couple of years, in hopes of establishing himself as an internationally-known host and model.(Windy Shao)
