WHU awards local girl

TANG SHUWEI, a local 14-year-old local girl, received an award from the World Health Organization (WHO) last week in Geneva, Switzerland, in a global drawing and composition competition on mental health.
Her award-winning series "The Injured Butterfly" tells the moving story of a mentally-disabled student who helps an injured butterfly.
More than 500,000 children and teens from around the world submitted entries.
Officials with the WHO expressed the hope that the competition will help young people worldwide gain a better understanding of mentally-disabled people around them, and lend a helping hand. They encouraged all educational institutions to take action and set courses on mental health in schools.
Reports said the WHO, at its ongoing annual meeting in Geneva, for the first time has put mental health to its agenda.(Mu Zi)
