I want to marry my child's father
|
Han Ximin
MY nephew Dongdong was a five-year-old boy. He is very sweet and always raises funny questions.
One day, I took him to visit Mrs Zhang, my classmate in university. She has a five-year-old daughter, Lily.
Dongdong and Lily were left in the children's room to play while we adults played cards in the sitting room.
On her way to get some fruit for the guests, Mrs Zhang overheard the children talking.
“Would you like to marry me when you grow up?” Dongdong asked.
“No,” the girl answered.
“Why not? Because I am not handsome now? Look, I will be strong and handsome when I grow up,” said the boy.
“You see, your mother married your father, and my mother married my father,” explained the girl. “You are not my child's father, how could I marry you?”
“I can only marry my child's father, that is definite,” said the girl. “So you are not my first choice.”
