Antiques' Town to open

SHENZHEN'S first market devoted entirely to buying and selling antiques and cultural relics will open on the first floor of the Shenzhen Grand Theatre building at the end of this month.
It is reported that the Shenzhen Cultural Bureau, the Industrial and Commercial Administration, the city's Public Security Bureau and Shenzhen Customs issued a document recently stating that no one should sell antiques or cultural relics without the permission of related provincial and municipal departments. Those already in the business should stop by June 15.
The buying and selling of cultural relics in Shenzhen was previously unregulated, and replete with rip-offs and fakes. To combat this, the government decided to open a regulated market.
It is planned that the new market, which will be called "antiques' town" will have over 40 stalls.(Windy Shao)
