New items start trial production
|
TWENTY-FIVE new products, researched and developed by the city's 21 enterprises, will soon enter trial production after being listed as the country's key new products in 2001, according to the SZ Municipal Economic Development Bureau.
The 25 new products employ microelectronics, telecommunications, medicine and mechanical electronics. According to the trial production plan issued by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation, the new products are predicted to earn 3.96 billion yuan (US$470 million) in sales revenue for Shenzhen in one year.
A phototransmission system developed by Huawei Technologies Co will soon help alleviate the country's dependence on imports of such technologies after the company begins mass production. And it is expected to net 1.5 billion yuan in sales earnings within one year. Network products made by ZTE also show promise in sales earnings. A total of 620 million yuan is expected to be made.
