Tens of thousands of militant South Korean industrial unionists including pilots at Korean Airlines launched a general strike yesterday, defying threats of a crackdown and crippling the two national airlines and other key industries. The workers are protesting against government-led restructuring which has led to massive job losses in the past three years.
